V-STARS/M and V-STARS/D use two or more cameras and operates like a portable optical CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) to deliver a real time 3D coordinate measurement. Measurements can be performed in both stable and unstable environments , at a rate of up to 10 measurements per second.
V-STARS/M INCA4 uses two or more custom-built INCA4 digital cameras. V-STARS/D D12 and V-STARS/D D5 involve two or more D12 and D5 DynaMO high-speed, cameras respectively. They allow for accurate, real-time measurements of static or dynamic objects.
Wireles hand held probes, retro-reflective photogrammetry targets or PROSPOT projected dots can be used.
V-STARS multiple camera systems can perform real time measurements in unstable environments.
In the Stable Mode of operation, stability of the cameras is required following the quick set up.
In Unstable Mode , the cameras can vibrate or move with no impact on the measurement accuracy.
The Unstable Mode is based on control points which allows for the cameras to be resected at each flash.
As a result the object movement or the cameras movement is taken into account anc compensated for.
Usually the control points are previously measured by a single-camera S-mode.
V-STARS has been fully tested and validated in accordance with the VDI/VDE 2634 standard for optical 3D measurement systems.
